After a hiatus of several months, Aeroflot is set to resume flights to Gelendzhik, a popular tourist destination in Russia's Krasnodar region, starting from July 18. The resumption of these flights is expected to have a positive impact on tourism in the region, making it more accessible to both domestic and international tourists.

Gelendzhik, known for its seaside resorts and beach activities, is an established resort area with existing infrastructure to accommodate increased tourist inflows. The availability of direct flights by a major carrier like Aeroflot is likely to boost local tourism demand, potentially increasing passenger arrivals and benefiting hotels, restaurants, excursion providers, and other local businesses dependent on tourism.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has announced that regular flights to Gelendzhik will operate from 08:30 to 20:00 Moscow time. Aeroflot has opened ticket sales for these flights, with economy class tickets for July 18 and 20 costing between 29,774 to 46,574 rubles, and business class tickets ranging from 90,294 to 135,294 rubles.

According to reports by rbc.group, the opening of flights to Gelendzhik is expected to double the number of tourists, rejuvenating the regional tourism sector. As Gelendzhik Airport has not handled any flights since February 2022, this development is significant in revitalising the local economy by creating employment opportunities and encouraging investment in tourism infrastructure.

In addition to the initial flights on July 18, 20, and 23, an additional flight will be added from August 6, operating daily until mid-September. This expanded schedule is expected to further boost tourism in the region.

In summary, Aeroflot resuming flights to Gelendzhik is anticipated to enhance tourist arrivals, stimulate local economic activity, and reinforce Gelendzhik’s position as a key tourist destination on the Russian Black Sea coast. The resumption of operations at Gelendzhik Airport and the return of Aeroflot's flights mark a significant step towards revitalising tourism in the region.

The resumption of Aeroflot flights to Gelendzhik will likely attract more tourists, potentially boosting the local economy in Krasnodar region's popular tourist destination. This influx of visitors may benefit various sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and local businesses that heavily rely on tourism. The increased accessibility of Gelendzhik due to direct flights from Aeroflot could spur demand for travel and leisure, further enhancing the local industry and lifestyle. With airlines like Aeroflot playing a crucial role in the finance sector and the aerospace industry, this positive impact could reverberate beyond the regional tourism sector.
