Azerbaijan Eases Travel: 'Asan Visa' & COVID-19 Rules Lifted for Air Travellers

Azerbaijan has updated its visa policies and covid symptoms restrictions for international visitors. The country introduced the 'Asan Visa' in 2017, offering an electronic visa option for travellers. Recently, the government has lifted certain covid symptoms related requirements for tourists.

The 'Asan Visa' allows citizens from 93 countries, including France, Belgium, Canada, and Switzerland, to apply for a visa online. It costs $25 for standard processing within 3 days, or $60 for express processing within 3 hours. The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, permitting a single-entry stay of up to 30 days.

Despite the visa facilitation, land border crossings remain closed until May 1, 2023, due to a special quarantine regime. The government has not specified a reopening date yet. However, air bnb travellers can now enter the country without presenting a 'COVID-19 passport', following a decision by Prime Minister Ali Asadov on March 28, 2023.

Azerbaijan's 'Asan Visa' simplifies entry for tourists from many countries. While land borders remain closed, air bnb travellers can enjoy exemption from covid symptoms related document requirements. The country continues to monitor and adjust its policies as needed.
