Bad Wimpfen Crowned Germany's Most Beautiful Old Town

Bad Wimpfen, a charming spa town in Baden-Württemberg, has been honoured with the title of 'most beautiful old town in Germany' at the 2025 Travelbook Awards. The town's mayor, Andreas Zaffran, accepted the accolade at a ceremony in Berlin on September 23, 2025.

Bad Wimpfen, nestled on the Neckar river and home to around 7,200 inhabitants, boasts a captivating old town filled with half-timbered houses, winding alleys, and historic cobblestones. The town's rich history is showcased in the Imperial Palace, which once served as the government seat for the emperor or king and now houses a historical museum.

The town's allure extends beyond its historical sites. Every summer, Bad Wimpfen hosts the Wimpfener Talmarkt, one of Germany's oldest folk festivals. During the Christmas season, a traditional old German Christmas market brings festive cheer to the town's streets. The town's picturesque setting and numerous events have contributed to its recent recognition.
