Nordhorn's 20th Festival of Cultures Strengthens Ties with Partner Cities

The 20th Festival of Cultures in Nordhorn, Germany, was a vibrant celebration that brought together delegations from the city's five partner cities: Coevorden (Netherlands), Montivilliers (France), Reichenbach (Saxony), Malbork (Poland), and Rieti (Italy).

The Nordhorn municipal partnership committee and the associated support association extended warm invitations to these delegations, marking the beginning of a weekend filled with cross-border contact-making and cultural exchange.

The action stand at the Festival of Cultures showcased festival foods from each partner city, offering festival-goers a taste of the diverse flavours that these cities have to offer. The guests were particularly enthusiastic about the colorful hustle and bustle at Kloster Frenswegen, where the round birthday of the Festival of Cultures took place.

In addition to the Festival of Cultures, the guests also had the opportunity to attend the Festival of Canals. This provided a unique chance to experience Nordhorn's rich water culture and further deepen the cultural exchange.

Discussions between Nordhorn's economic promoters and city building director Thimo Weitemeier, along with their counterparts from the partner cities, took place during the weekend. These discussions aimed to strengthen existing ties and explore potential collaborations for the future.

The aim of the event was to bring the partner cities closer to the Festival of Cultures and foster citizen exchange. Many new contacts were established during the visits, and the potential for action stands at future festivals was discussed.

Unfortunately, the names of the members of the Nordhorn Partnership Committee who invited the delegations of partner cities to the 20th Festival of Cultures in Nordhorn are not publicly available.

The weekend ended on a high note with a farewell dinner on the banks of the Vechtesee before the guests departed for their homes. The 20th Festival of Cultures in Nordhorn was a resounding success, strengthening ties with partner cities and fostering a spirit of international friendship and cooperation.
