Commemorative Train Journey Marking National Unification Anniversary
Spicing Up the Celebration: The Reunification Train's Special Rides
DA NANG - With the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's Reunification Day approaching, the city's railway station was bustling with 900 passengers who boarded the Reunification Train, complete with two extra services from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
In the lead-up to the anniversary, about 400 passengers stepped off at Da Nang station, while another 500 disembarked momentarily en route to the celebrations in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) highlighted that these two services, departing from Hanoi (SE1) and Ho Chi Minh City (SE4) on April 29, were more than just a special service to mark the Liberation of the South.
Passengers on the special trains were treated to gifts from VNR and the city's authorities as they stoppedover at Da Nang. The rail company added that over 1,000 veterans, injured war veterans, and social welfare recipients received a 40% discount off the regular ticket price for North-South trains.

To accommodate the growing travel demands during the five-day holiday, VNR augmented its existing five daily North-South trains (Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City) by two extra services between April 29-30. This initiative was a response to the escalating demands of travelers cruising from North to South.
Last year, VNR had introduced the 'Central Heritage Connection' train, linking the popular tourist destinations of Hue and Da Nang, further driving cultural tourism in the region. Nhieu Tinh Thien Su
