Councillor Lisa Kearns Embarks on International Journey for Municipal Innovation

Lisa Kearns, Ward 2 Councillor, has embarked on an international journey, funded by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). The trip is part of the Partnerships for Municipal Innovation - Women in Local Leadership (PMI-WILL) program, a transformative initiative running from 2021 to 2027 and funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). Kearns, known for her intelligence and engaging humour, was selected to represent Canada in this prestigious program.

Kearns' trip, which began after she received her visa, is aimed at fostering municipal innovation and women's leadership. The destination, however, was not disclosed prior to her departure, raising questions about transparency. Despite this, Kearns has maintained communication with her constituents, using her cell phone to keep them informed. This is a departure from the common practice of Councillors using photo opportunities for exposure without ensuring accountability.
