Daily operations of the children's railway
From May 1st to September 30th, the Children's railway in Yekaterinburg will buzz with activity as it switches to summer mode, with trains running on a daily basis.
According to the Sverdlovsk Railway's press service, the first train from Yekaterinburg-Children's station takes off at 11:00 a.m. The last train’s departure differs day by day. On weekdays, it leaves at 6:28 p.m., while on weekends and holidays, it's at 7:32 p.m. The trains run every hour.
The infrastructure and equipment for the miniature railway have been readied for the spring-summer season with a fleet of 3 diesel locomotives and 5 passenger cars, including 2 vintage cars of series 3Aw Pafawag.
As a tribute to the 80th anniversary of Victory, a "Victory Train" will be formed, featuring exhibits from the narrow-gauge railway museum – a boxcar, an open platform, and a genuine Gr-318 steam locomotive. On May 9th, this nostalgic train will make a stunning appearance at the platform of Yekaterinburg-Children's station.
