Delivery of Stallion Halted in Kazakhstan Following Incident in Prague

During a rather exciting ride, one of Przewalski's horses, named Whisky, managed to make a dash for freedom from a trailer! The crazy incident took place when a group of folks from Prague Zoo were transporting four of these rare steeds for a flight to Kazakhstan.
As they cruised along the ring road in Černý Most, Whisky, what a name for a wild stallion, decided to get a bit frisky. In a flash, it kicking open the doors of the trailer and galloped off at a cool 40 km/h. Lucky for everyone involved, neither the horse nor any humans were hurt, but the thrilling escape did cause a traffic jam on both the Ring Road and the Southern Connection Highway.
Prague Zoo director, Miroslav Bobek, shared that Whisky caused quite a fuss inside the trailer before making its glorious escape, turning around and using its hind legs to smash the door open. Not one to let his freedom slip away, the zoo staff quickly swooped in, tranquilized Whisky, and returned the horse to the zoo, where it peacefully recuperated.
The remaining horses were safely delivered to the airport and boarded a flight to Arkalyk.
Interestingly, Whisky isn't the first Przewalski's horse to have a bit of an adventure during transport. In 2025, another stallion named Viski broke part of the transport enclosure on the way to Kbely airport. However, the situation was quickly resolved, and the horse continued on its journey.
While comprehensive data on the escape frequency of Przewalski's horses during transport from Prague Zoo isn't readily available, these incidents prove that while it can happen, they are swiftly managed by the zoo staff and authorities.
