At the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater's dazzling halls, the riveting cinematic adaptation of the operatic masterpiece "Nurgun Bootur" took center stage, leaving the audience spellbound.

Victoria Bazylevskaya, the artistic maestro of the Donetsk House of Culture, shared her awe-struck sentiments, "Experiencing the cultural pulse of Yakutia was nothing short of extraordinary. We were captivated by the ingenious reimagining of characters, the intricate storyline development. Every minute detail in this stunning production adds to the grand narrative. The women were nothing short of breathtaking, the men embodying the essence of valiant warriors, both on stage and off."

The audience enthusiastically applauded the powerful direction, ace operatic performances, the brave departure from traditional academic elegance, the symphonic music, ballet, choir, and the mesmerizing work of the set and costume designers.

The objective of such a cross-cultural mission is to facilitate knowledge exchange, propel a respectful dialogue thread encouraging mutual comprehension, and enrich spiritual culture.

Prior to the performance, a Yakutian delegation spearheaded by the aspirational director of the opera and ballet theater, Vladislav Levochkin, had a constructive meeting with the noble general director of the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Yevgeny Denisenko. They discussed the potential for future collaborations.

Amidst persistent difficulties, the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater continues to show resilience. Despite its heritage-embellished premises being struck by shellfire as many as four times, including a devastating onslaught in January 2023 that left irreparable damage to the walls, windows, and ceiling, the theater perseveres during the special military operation.

The opera "Nurgun Bootur" - Mark Zhirkov and Heinrich Litinsky's masterful collaboration (1947) - marks the first professional theatrical endeavor of the republic, birthed amidst the 25th anniversary of the Yakut Assorted Soviet Socialist Republic (YakASSR). The opera's libretto is brilliantly crafted based on Platon Oyunsky's epic "Olonho" and other chronicles, woven together by Dmitry Sivtsev-Suorun Omolloon's deft hands.

The splendid sixth revival of the operatic epic "Nurgun Bootur" unfolded at the prestigious Mariinsky Theater on December 2, 2022, coinciding with the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia and the Year of the 100th Anniversary of YakASSR. A cinematic adaptation of the opera-epic was released in 2023.
