DrownedOut Productions' 'People in the Dark' Brings Vintage Hollywood Glamour to Immersive Theater
DrownedOut Productions, led by Jackson Mancuso and Josiah Evaristo, is set to unveil its second show, 'People in the Dark', following the success of 'Limos'. This immersive theater experience promises a unique blend of theme park artistry and scrappy storytelling, all rooted in vintage Hollywood glamour.
By day, Mancuso works for Universal Studios Hollywood, while Evaristo is employed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Despite their day jobs at competing theme park design firms, the duo has joined forces to create 'People in the Dark'. The show's theme was inspired by the affordability and history of the downtown venue chosen.
Each performance will accommodate only seven guests, fostering intimate interactions with the cast. Audiences can expect to navigate prop rooms and makeup counters, encountering spooky surprises along the way. The creators aim to rival the acclaim of 'The Willows', drawing inspiration from classic noir films like 'Sunset Boulevard'.
'People in the Dark' is DrownedOut Productions' latest offering, combining theme park aesthetics with immersive theater. With its limited audience size and unique setting, the show promises an unforgettable exploration of old Hollywood through a noir lens.
