Funding secured for the long-anticipated park cable car project
Moving Forward with Phu Kradueng's Cable Car Project
Yeeha! The long-awaited cable car project in Phu Kradueng National Park, Loei is finally getting off the ground with a 25.7-million-baht budget approved for its design. This is fantastic news!
According to Atthapol Charoenchansa, director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), the proposed cable car route might commence at Pha Mak Dook, running for roughly 3 kilometers in the initial phase. This first phase could cost up to a billion baht, but hey, it's all part of the thing, right?
Locals are generally chuffed about the project, though there could be a permanent restriction on accessing zones inhabited by wild elephants. Sounds like a bummer, but Atthapol mentioned they're considering introducing safari-style tours to draw more tourists. Cool, huh? These tours would be on previously off-limits roads due to the presence of wild elephants.
To minimize environmental impact, the cable car design might adopt a single tower design, which is kind of like a space-saving trick for the forest floor. And there's a plan to install a small-scale electric train system at the mountain top, making it easier for senior tourists to get around. Thoughtful touch, ain't it?
