Germany, renowned worldwide as the land of brewing art, is home to over 1,500 breweries. An analysis of Google search queries over the past 12 months has revealed diverse preferences among the federal states, with certain regional favourites emerging as the most searched beer brands.

In beer-loving Bavaria, Augustiner remains the most searched beer brand, despite strong competition. This traditional brewery based in Munich has captured the interest of Germans, accompanying various social events and connecting generations. Surprisingly, Augustiner also tops the search rankings in the capital city of Berlin.

Bitburger, another popular brand, shares the top spot nationwide with Krombacher. They are the most searched beer brands in four northern and western states, including North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland. Krombacher is also the most searched beer brand in Hamburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, and Schleswig-Holstein.

Paulaner, another traditional brewery, is the most searched beer brand in Thuringia, Baden-Württemberg, and Bavaria's neighbouring state, Bavaria. Jever is the most searched beer brand in Lower Saxony, Stoertebeker in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Beck's in Bremen, each with only one state each.

Beer is a significant part of German culture, and the beer industry crisis has not affected the popularity of these regional favourites among Germans. The most searched beer brand in Germany is Beck’s, as it is frequently recognized in awards and consumer preferences alongside other popular brands like Franziskaner and Krombacher.

Radeberger is the most searched beer brand in Saxony, adding to the rich beer culture of the region. The beer industry in Germany is currently facing a crisis, but the love for local brews remains strong among Germans.
