Government Hajj application deadline under Pakistan's scheme concludes today
The deadline for submitting Hajj 2026 applications under Pakistan's government scheme has been extended to August 18, 2025, for applications through designated banks. The online portal for applications closed earlier, on August 16, 2025, at midnight.
The process began on August 4, 2025, with two phases: registered applicants submitted their applications from August 4 to 9, and unregistered applicants followed from August 11 to 16. The deadline was extended by one day for bank submissions, but the online portal remained closed.
Applications were processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the government quota seats were filled. As the deadline approached, only about 7,000 seats remained available.
Applicants were required to deposit an initial installment, ranging from Rs 500,000 to Rs 550,000, and could choose from a long or short package of pilgrimage services. The total quota allocated by Saudi Arabia to Pakistan for Hajj 2026 is 179,210 pilgrims, with 129,210 seats reserved under the government scheme.
The cost for the long package under the government scheme ranges between Rs1,150,000 and Rs1,250,000 ($4,050-4,236), while the cost for the short package is not specified. Applicants can verify their application details through the ministry's portal or the Pak Hajj 2026 app.
It is important to note that private tour operators faced technical and financial delays last year, preventing them from utilizing their allocated Hajj seats in 2025. The remaining seats are allocated to these operators in Pakistan.
The state broadcaster, Radio Pakistan, reported on the deadline for Hajj applications. Applicants are advised to obtain computerized receipts for their applications and are required to deposit the first installment in designated banks only.
