London's charm post-Brexit is undeniable, even resilient amidst the challenges. The city buzzes with life, and its multifaceted food scene plays a significant part in keeping it an attractive destination for travelers. From traditional pub grub to international flavors, London's vibrant culinary landscape reflects its diverse demographic.
Strolling around Piccadilly Circus at night, one might be caught off guard by the whirlwind of colors and energy. Yet, this bustling crossroad is just a fraction of what London has to offer. Explore further, and you'll find that the city reveals layers of sophistication in Mayfair, an edgy coolness in Shoreditch, and picturesque charm in Notting Hill. This dynamic city beguiles travelers with its mouthwatering dishes that match its unique neighborhoods.
Gone are the days when fish and chips would be the only gastronomic highlight. Today, London's 5,000 pubs serve as creative powerhouses where young, talented chefs excel in showcasing overlooked British products with flair. But where should you venture to experience the very best of this culinary culture? Here are my personal suggestions for a memorable London adventure – from fine dining experiences to traditional pubs.
Alex Dilling at the "Café Royal" Hotel
Located in the busy heart of Regent Street, the majestic "Café Royal" hotel exudes an irresistible charm that seems at odds with the city traffic rushing past outside. The hotel offers the perfect balance of contemporary luxury and old-world elegance.

Alex Dilling, a London native trained under culinary giants such as Alain Ducasse and Hélène Darroze, now calls the "Café Royal" his culinary home. Utilizing French techniques, Dilling creates dishes that highlight the best of British produce. From playful, luxurious starters, like caviar-topped delicacies, to straightforward, flawless mains like grilled fish, Dilling masters the art of delighting the senses.

GONG, The Shard
Over in Chinatown, London reveals its true global identity – yes, you can still find tourist traps dishing out mediocre Chinese food, but seek a bit further and discover the hidden gems like "The Duck and Rice" in Soho. Here, the lavish Peking ducks, crispy-skinned and golden, are truly a culinary delight.
Just a stone's throw away from the tourist-infested Borough Market sits "The Shard," a striking skyscraper that stands as a beacon over London. This building, owned by a Chinese conglomerate, offers a stunning vantage point of the city from above.
Inside its elegant walls lies the "GONG" bar, boasting some of the most creative and captivating cocktails crafted by expert mixologists. The rhubarb cocktail with vodka and sherry is an especially delightful dream – the perfect marriage of flavors to accompany the mesmerizing view of the ever-wakeful city.
Mercato Mayfair

In the heart of the posh, sometimes Russian nouveau riche-dominated Mayfair, the stunning transformation of St. Mark's Church proves successful. The church, deconsecrated in 1974, now serves up generous portions for dinner amidst the original stained windows, balconies, and artwork.
"Mercato Mayfair" offers a lively food court filled with a variety of mouthwatering options. From indulgent Indian specialties at "Bindas" to delicious gyozas at "Steamy & Co," there's a cuisine for every palate. Don't miss out on the bar "The Altar," made from almost 2000 recycled glasses, for an authentic pub atmosphere.
The George's Inn
London's storied history comes alive at "The George's Inn," a pub that claims to have been operating since 1543. Beneath its aged, swaying floorboards, hospitable staff serves up traditional pub fare at reasonable prices.
From fried Fish&Chips to the hearty Duck Hash and Sunday Roast, every dish at "The George's Inn" brings you a taste of England. Soak up the warmth of this timeless establishment while you listen to the mellow chatter of the guests – a perfect ending to an unforgettable London adventure.
