**Air India Announces Phased Resumption of International Operations**

Air India has announced a gradual return to normalcy, with the phased resumption of its international operations commencing on August 1, 2025. This decision comes after the airline implemented a safety pause following the unfortunate crash of flight AI171 on June 12, 2025.

The phased resumption will see over 525 international flights operating weekly on 63 routes by the end of the process. This partial restoration of international operations is a significant step towards normalizing operations while maintaining safety standards and adapting to current regional constraints.

One of the key changes is the reinstatement of the Delhi-London Heathrow route to its full schedule of 24 weekly flights, effective from July 16, 2025. Additionally, a new route between Ahmedabad and London Heathrow will begin operating three times a week from August 1, 2025.

Other routes experiencing changes include Delhi-Zurich, which will increase from four to five flights per week from August 1, 2025. The Delhi-Tokyo (Haneda) and Delhi-Seoul (Incheon) routes are also set to see full weekly frequencies reinstated by August and September, respectively.

However, some services, primarily to Europe, North America, Australia, and Africa, will continue to experience reduced frequencies or temporary suspensions. Affected passengers are being proactively contacted with options for rebooking or full refunds.

The Delhi-Amsterdam route will return to its full schedule of seven flights per week from August 1, but the Delhi-Copenhagen route will remain at three flights per week, down from five. The Delhi-Milan will be reduced from four to three flights per week starting July 16.

Some routes, such as Amritsar-London (Gatwick), Goa (Mopa) and London (Gatwick), Bengaluru and Singapore, and Pune and Singapore, will remain completely suspended until at least September 30. Similarly, Delhi-Birmingham will maintain its reduced schedule of two flights per week, and Delhi-Paris and Delhi-Vienna connections will be scaled back to seven and three weekly flights, respectively.

Flights to Australia-including Delhi-Melbourne and Delhi-Sydney-will continue operating at five times per week. Delhi-Nairobi flights will continue three times a week until August 31, after which the route will be suspended for the entire month of September.

Air India is committed to ensuring the safety of its passengers and crew, and the phased resumption allows the airline to gradually bring back international capacity while closely monitoring operational and safety conditions. The airline aims to achieve a complete return to normal operations by October 1, 2025.

The phased resumption of Air India's international operations includes the reinstatement of the finance sector, as the Delhi-London Heathrow route will resume its full schedule of 24 weekly flights, and a new route between Ahmedabad and London Heathrow will begin operating three times a week. This resumption also affects the lifestyle industry, as travelers can now look forward to more transportation options with over 525 international flights operating weekly on 63 routes. The aviation industry will also witness growth, as Air India aim to achieve a complete return to normal operations by October 1, 2025, which could encourage increased investment in the industry. The phased resumption of Air India's international operations is a significant step towards normalizing operations while maintaining safety standards and adapting to current regional constraints, particularly in the transportation and finance sectors.
