Title: Experiencing the Gritty Beauty of Yakutia with Travel Guru Andrei Ponrakov

Are you ready for an adventure that's far from ordinary? Buckle up as we take you on a journey through the remote and rugged lands of Yakutia, where our fearless host, Andrei Ponrakov, has left no stone unturned for his latest project, "One of Our Own" on the "My Planet" channel.

Unlike traditional travel shows that focus on checking off tourist attractions, this series aims to immerse the viewer in the heart of the culture. In Yakutia, that meant becoming a farmer, a Nomad, a bone-carver, and even a diamond cutter!

Throughout the shoot, Ponrakov immersed himself in the local culture, learning the trades that define the Yakutian inhabitants. He fed Yakutian horses, cleaned their stables, and even milked a cow. "Working with animals made me appreciate the farmer's hard work, simple homemade food, and warmth," he shared after the filming.

If you're wondering if Ponrakov’s farming skills are up to par, catch the series this fall on the "My Planet" channel!

But that's not all! Ponrakov also spent time with master bone-carvers, learned the intricate world of diamond cutting, and even visited a Yakutian film set.

Who is Andrei Ponrakov, you ask? He's not your typical TV host. Born and raised in Moscow's Solntsevo district during the 80s, he excelled in Sambo and placed third in the city championship. After studying at a vocational school to become a tractor driver and working as a fitter on a factory, he enlisted in the Soviet Armed Forces before graduating from the International Department of the Journalism Faculty of Moscow State University.

You probably recognize him best as the host of "Around the World" and the author and host of programs on the "My Planet" channel since 2009.

From growing up in harsh circumstances to mastering the art of storytelling, Ponrakov brings a level of authenticity and realism to "One of Our Own" that sets it apart from ordinary travel shows. Consider this project a testament to his adventurous spirit, adaptability, and resilience, as he pushed through the challenges of filming in one of the most remote and unforgiving regions on earth.
