Mountain Resort Overlapping Coal Mine: A coal mine sits atop a mountain resort setting
Chill Times with a Mountain Escape
Time moves on, still full of mystery and knowledge. Especially during these heated election seasons, it's a relief to find some peace and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle, and surrounded by a green sea of tranquility. In short, embrace the moment.
To unwind and unwind, I recently revisited my partner at a mountain resort in Argao City - Coal Mountain Resort in Brgy. Linut-od, about 23 kilometers from the city center.

We first visited the resort back in 2017, with our children. But after all these years, we forgot about this hidden gem.
We took our private vehicle and asked directions from the locals on the Brgy. Taloot highway. We followed the concrete road that divided many barangays. Our journey, unexpectedly, took an hour and 45 minutes, as we had to ask around to find the resort. If it were direct, it would've only taken an hour.

Despite being a bit far, the journey is well worth it due to the scenic beauty of the place. The air is fresh, with the aroma of pine trees and eucalyptus from the steep slopes of the resort. Initially, this spot was a coal mining site, later called Coal Mountain Resort by the Caminero family.
Apart from its commercial purpose, the site has been home to several families for generations.
Affordable rooms and food make up most of the offerings. The most popular dishes on their menu are the native chicken soup, tastefully spiced to warm you up in the chilly atmosphere.

There are two types of swimming pools: the common pool like other resorts, and the unique - the spring-fed pool. To access the natural pool, you need to cross a wooden boardwalk, secured with cables for safety.
The spring-fed pool is 22 meters long, but there's a shallow edge for those not confident swimmers.
There's a mini-zoo as well, but unfortunately, during our visit, the zipline and the tunnel sauna were closed. Despite this, the atmosphere and overall experience at the resort made our trip worthwhile.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, and there was a variety of food options. It's even more enjoyable to stay in non-air-conditioned rooms because the therapy of the cold mountain air is sufficient.
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, a bonding experience with family or friends, but don't want to be too far from the city, Coal Mountain Resort is your perfect choice. You'll find peace, both physically and mentally. / Insider's Take: Gemma H. Tangoan, Jeah Datuin, and Coal Mountain Resort
Enrichment Data:Current Status:Recent social media posts and updates suggest that Coal Mountain Resort is operational and accessible to visitors. However, for accurate and up-to-date information about the resort's activities and facilities, it is best to contact the resort directly or check their official website or social media pages.
After our peaceful escape to Coal Mountain Resort, we decided to extend our tranquil lifestyle to our home-and-garden by planting pine trees and eucalyptus, just like the resort.
Our next vacation will be a combination of travel and home-and-garden, as we plan to visit more home-grown resorts that offer a sense of relaxation and serenity, similar to the Coal Mountain Resort experience.
