Time and again, tranquility and wisdom prevail amidst chaos. Especially during these heated election times, it's comforting to search for a cozy hideaway, far from the maddening crowd, and nestled within the lush foliage of a breathtaking view. In essence, escape into nature.
To unwind and chill out, I ventured back to my partner in a mountain resort nestled within Argao City — the Coal Mountain Resort in Barangay Linut-od, approximately 23 kilometers from the city center.

We first visited the resort way back in 2017 with our children. However, after a considerable lapse of time, we somehow forgot all about our past visits.
We rode our private vehicle along the concrete road that slices through several barangays. Our journey lasted about an hour and 45 minutes, as we asked locals for directions along the way. If it was a direct route, it should have taken us just an hour.

Despite the distance, the journey was worth it due to the beauty and serenity of the place. The air was fresh, and the verdant greenery from the resort's towering trees provided a stunning panorama. Known as a coal mining site, this piece of paradise was christened Coal Mountain Resort by the Caminero family.
Setting aside its uncertain past, the resort thrives with numerous families.
Affordable rooms and meals are available, and their most popular dish, a steaming chicken soup, was incredibly fitting for the chilly climate.

There are two types of swimming pools: the standard pool common to most resorts, and the exceptional — the spring-fed swimming pool. To reach the natural pool, you must traverse a rickety suspension bridge and climb a steep staircase.
The spring-fed pool boasts a 22-meter length, but the pool's edge is quite steep, making it potentially dangerous for the unprepared.
Other attractions, such as the mini zoo, zipline, and tunnel sauna were closed during our visit. Despite this, the resort's ambiance offered an enjoyable experience that was both inexpensive and rejuvenating.

The staff provided exceptional service, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. You can even choose from a variety of dishes. A non-air conditioned room is particularly recommendable as air conditioning is unnecessary given the refreshing mountain climate.
