Nordhorn Celebrates World Children's Day with 400+ Kids in Rights-Focused Festival
Nordhorn celebrated World Children's Day with a vibrant festival, attracting around 400 children, young people, and families. The event, held on September 20th, highlighted the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and offered a colorful program centered around 'Children's rights: Building blocks for democracy'.
The festival, organized by the Youth Department of Nordhorn and supported by local associations, featured a diverse range of attractions. A balloon artist and a bouncy castle added to the fun, while the Nordhorn City Library and Gallery offered creative activities. The Children's Protection Association and the One World Shop educated visitors about world news and world market children's rights worldwide through interactive actions.
The event was filled with performances, including dance routines by 'The Monity'. Other activities included a low ropes course, actions by the DRK and Nordhorn Tafel, a cozy fire with stick bread, a skill rally, and magic shows. The Nordhorn Youth Center grounds provided the perfect setting for this family-friendly celebration.
The big family festival for World Children's Day 2025 was a resounding success, with participants enjoying a wide range of activities and learning about the importance of children's rights.
