Nuremberg's selection concludes: Nora (15) is the city's latest Christ Child figure
Nuremberg, Germany - The city is abuzz with excitement as 15-year-old Nora Falk, a student at the Willstätt Gymnasium Nuremberg, has been appointed as the new Nuremberg Christkind for the term 2025/26.
Nora, born in 2009, was chosen by a jury consisting of representatives from various local institutions, including media, the Nuremberg State Theatre, the Nuremberg Markets, the Office for Communication and City Marketing, the Congress and Tourism Center, and the previous Christkind, Nelli Lunkenheimer.

As the Nuremberg Christkind, Nora's role is significant. Each year, the Christkind plays a central figure in the festivities, appearing on the balcony of the Frauenkirche on the Friday before the first Advent to mark the beginning of the Christmas season.
Nora's term as Christkind is for two years, a tradition that allows her to participate in various events and activities promoting the market and Nuremberg's festive atmosphere. During her tenure, Nora will visit many social and charitable institutions in Nuremberg and the surrounding area.
Andreas Franke, the city's press spokesman, stated that Nora's confident appearance and empathy were the most convincing factors for the jury. Nora's interests include tennis, theater, singing, kickboxing, and reading, which will undoubtedly enrich her role as the Christkind.
The public can cast their vote after the publication of photos and videos of the twelve candidates in the daily newspapers and on the internet. The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt's opening ceremony will be broadcast live on television and radio, allowing everyone to witness Nora's historic moment.
