SommerLeseClub 2025 in Mönchengladbach Libraries: A Summer of Reading and Creativity
Get ready for an exciting summer of reading and creative activities in Mönchengladbach! The SommerLeseClub 2025 is set to kick off on July 1, 2025, inviting children, teenagers, and families to participate in a variety of events across various city libraries.
The SommerLeseClub, a highlight of the summer in Mönchengladbach, offers a unique blend of reading challenges and fun events to keep participants active and engaged during the school break.
One of the highlights of the SommerLeseClub is the "Sprechende Bilder" event, designed for SLC participants aged nine and up. This interactive event combines reading with creative engagement and is scheduled to take place in the Makerspace on August 6th, from 10:30 to 12:30.
For the younger ones, there's the Yoga for Kids event, a fun and relaxing activity that promotes movement alongside reading. Participants aged seven to ten are invited to join this event, led by Inga Bacaksiz, on August 8th, from 10:30 to 11:30. If weather permits, the event will take place outdoors in the library garden or in the WandelSaal.
Another exciting event is the reading event featuring the lively magpie from the cathedral roof, Dolores, scheduled for Wednesday, August 15th. This storytelling session is intended for children aged six and up and will take place from 10:30 to 12:00.
For those with a flair for creativity, the "Wizard of Worbla" cosplay workshop offers a hands-on experience in craft-making related to the Wizard of Worbla theme. The workshop will take place in the Makerspace on August 21st and 22nd, from 10:30 to 16:00. Registration for this event is via email at [email protected].
Throughout the summer holidays, the city libraries in Mönchengladbach will transform into reading labs, imagination workshops, and experiential spaces until August 30th. The SommerLeseClub is free to join, and there are still spots available. No prior experience is needed for the Yoga for Kids event.
