Swindlers targeting passengers with election voting manipulation scams
On the 17th of May, 2025, a staggering 17,136 passengers embarked on their journey across Central Visayas' waters, making it a potentially eventful day with the heightened alert status of certain Coast Guard vessels since May 9th.
Philippine Coastguard Central Visayas had its alert status elevated for a five-day period, raising suspicions of an impending maritime event.
According to data, 9,978 travelers were reported across various provinces, while 7,158 were accounted for in Cebu.
