The Initial Teaser for 28 Years Later Previews the Terrifying Events Awaiting
Fans fond of zombie and infection tales adore the 28 Days Later movies, and were thrilled about the announcement of 28 Years Later continuing the saga. Details about this movie have mainly been concealed, but it appears that Sony is ready to reveal what this successor has in store for us.
Not too long ago, the studio disclosed a cryptic, 14-second teaser mostly characterized by Morse code being typed against a dark backdrop. Nonetheless, there are some blink-and-you-miss images popping up, such as red skulls and the biohazard symbol. The most prominent are an aerial view of an island connected to a lengthy land bridge, and a helmet with an arrow piercing it. The Morse code, according to speculations on 28 Years Later's Twitter page, seems to decode to "Tuesday." Considering that Sony's upcoming blockbuster, Kraven the Hunter, is slated for release the following Friday...some connections can be drawn.
28 Years Later focuses on a new group of survivors (portrayed by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Jack O’Connell, among others), as the Rage Virus from the previous films resurfaces with renewed ferocity. As per Ralph Fiennes in October, the film will revolve around a young boy on a quest to save his ailing mother and playing the doctor who eventually assists them. Additionally, the film will reintroduce Cillian Murphy as the protagonist, Jim, from 28 Days. The original creative team, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, have come back to oversee the direction and scriptwriting for the movie.
If the Morse code is authentic, we can anticipate the release of a 28 Years Later trailer in the near future, prior to its scheduled premiere on June 20, 2025. Sony also has two more sequels scheduled after this, with one reportedly led by The Marvels’ Nia DaCosta.
