Gridlock on Krasnodar Exits: A Nightmare Traffic Circus
Traffic congestion of 8 points observed in Krasnodar prior to the extended weekend.
On the eve of the May holiday weekend, Krasnodar turned into a sea of red as residents desperately tried to escape the city. According to "Yandex.Maps," jams reached a staggering eight points, caused by residents who had taken advantage of reduced work hours.
The chaos was most pronounced on the Turgenyevsky and Yablonovsky bridges, the Rostov Highway, and Ural Street towards the Eastern bypass. Significant delays also occurred on Machuginskaya and Goryachoklyuchevskaya Streets.
But what made matters worse wasn't just the jams - they left the center of Krasnodar paralyzed, turning Red Street, Northern Street, and their approaches into sprawling parking lots.
Yet, at around 6:00 PM, the city began to breathe a sigh of relief. As of 8:00 PM, traffic jams in the regional center had dropped to four points. However, and this isn't a surprise, traffic jams on city exits persisted.
It's worth remembering that Beregovaya Street will be closed on May 9th in Krasnodar.

Recent regional events could be indirectly contributing to traffic disruptions. For instance, a riot involving soldiers, accused of desertion, occurred at the Krasnodar garrison commandant's office on April 18-19, 2025. This incident resulted in heightened security measures, including traffic blockages and vehicle searches. Moreover, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, with its military engagements and potential air defense activities, might amplify the traffic situation as security may be enhanced for Victory Day celebrations or during military-related movements.
- Despite the relief felt in Krasnodar's city center as traffic jams decreased, traffic jams on city exits continue to persist, even at 8:00 PM.
- Even though the riot at the Krasnodar garrison commandant's office has ended, heightened security measures, including traffic blockages and vehicle searches, might indirectly contribute to traffic disruptions.
- The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, with its military engagements and potential air defense activities, could amplify the traffic situation, especially during celebrations or military-related movements.
- On May 9th, Beregovaya Street will be closed in Krasnodar, creating another potential challenge for home-and-garden enthusiasts, travelers, and those keen on maintaining their lifestyle, as they navigate the traffic of the city during the upcoming holidays.
