Tulibot Partners with Indonesia to Deploy Smart Glasses for Hearing Impaired
Tulibot, a tech innovator, is partnering with Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs to tackle communication barriers for the hearing impaired. The collaboration aims to pinpoint optimal locations for deploying Tulibot's meta glasses solution, which has shown promise in trials.
Indonesia hosts around 2.5 million individuals with hearing loss, highlighting the need for accessible communication tools. Tulibot's meta glasses, understanding common Indonesian languages like Sudanese, Javanese, and Bahasa Indonesia, cater to this need, utilizing data from Mozilla's Common Voice repository.
The glasses employ a cloud-based speaker diarization engine or a localized app to discern multiple speakers, ensuring clear communication even in multi-participant situations. Tulibot's founder, Muhammad Alan Nur, was inspired to create these solutions after struggling to communicate with a hearing-impaired waiter.
Tulibot has successfully launched pilot projects with PT Pertamina and the Bitung Caring Deaf community (Kaleb), receiving positive feedback. The glasses function effectively in various scenarios, including changes in lighting and compatibility with glasses, and offer real-time speech-to-text transcription with a latency rate as low as 10 milliseconds. Tulibot aims to transform its meta glasses into a lifestyle brand and reduce their weight for everyday use.
Tulibot's meta glasses, understanding Indonesian languages and offering real-time transcription, are poised to revolutionize communication for Indonesia's hearing-impaired population. With successful pilot projects and a partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Tulibot is set to expand its reach, making communication more accessible and inclusive.
