Wuppertal enjoys a pleasant day on Saturdays.
This weekend, Wuppertal is joining over 400 locations across Germany in hosting the board game event "Stadt-Land-Spielt!" The event, which has been taking place every mid-September since 2013, aims to foster a sense of community and inclusivity.
On Saturday, the city library (Zentralbibliothek) at Kolpingstraße 8 will host an event from 9 am to 1 pm. The event invites kids, families, gaming enthusiasts, and the curious to try out new games. A wide selection of card, skill, or party games suitable for kids, families, and adults will be available, thanks to the participation of game publishers such as Amigo, Asmodee, Denkriesen, Game Factory, HABA, Hans im Glück Verlag, HeidelBÄR Games, Jumbo, KENDi, Kosmos, PegasusSpiele, Piatnik, Ravensburger, and SimbaToys with Zoch and Noris.
The event promotes the cultural heritage of games and encourages participation from game publishers, supporters, municipalities, and associations. Other partners of the event include the German Game Archive of the city of Nuremberg, the Herne Game Center, the Drübberholz Game Center, and the "Aufbruch am Arrenberg" association.
In the afternoon, from 1 pm to 8 pm, the "Aufbruch am Arrenberg" event will take place at Fröbelstraße 1A. Here, participants can enjoy card games or collecting victory points. Besides games, waffles, pastries, and drinks will be offered for a donation.
The aim of the event is to connect people beyond local or social origins, generations, and physical and mental abilities. Admission to both events in Wuppertal is free, and no registration is required.
This nationwide event, besides Schenefeld and Norderstedt, will take place at over 300 locations across Germany, including various game clubs, libraries, youth centers, and public institutions. With over 400 sites nationwide participating in total, it's an excellent opportunity for board game enthusiasts to come together and celebrate their shared passion.
